Bhaja Govindam Bhaja Govindam,
Govindam Bhaja Moodhamate
Naamasmaranat Kimanyat,
Mokshasyaanaadiraahitam
Translation
Seek Govinda, seek Govinda, seek Govinda, O fool! What else can save you? The path to liberation has always been through the remembrance of the divine name.
The teaching
The refrain returns again. But by now, its meaning has deepened through all that came before. "Govinda" is no longer just a name of Krishna — it is a pointer to the ground of being, to what is real and enduring in an impermanent world. The fool who is addressed is each of us, in our moments of forgetting.
