Verse (Roman transliteration)
Translation
One who is deeply devoted to the Guru will soon be free from worldly existence. Through disciplined senses and mind, one will see the divine dwelling in one's own heart.
The teaching
The Guru is central to Vedantic tradition not as an object of blind worship but as a living pointer toward truth. The Guru accelerates the path by providing what no book can: a living example, direct correction, and the transmission of understood experience. Combined with sense-discipline and mental steadiness, one discovers that the divine is not distant — it is the very heart of one's own being.
Living this today
Illustrative example: Ask a trusted mentor for one example of a habit that limits your work. Listen for the concrete behaviour, then choose a small experiment. A useful guide need not offer constant reassurance.
